I started stamping in the late 90’s for the fun of it. I picked up supplies from the local craft stores and started to make cards for family and friends. I enjoyed connecting with those both near and far by sending a little cheer their way. As time went on, my desire to find different ways to make cards grew and so did my collection of things. It wasn’t until later that one of my closest friends from college became a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, which encouraged me to look closer at their supplies. The techniques presented totally intrigued me!
I have always enjoyed putting together that perfect project for a special occasion. The reward comes in watching the faces of each recipient or hearing their comments of joy! After all, creating cards, scrapbook pages, and gift items is about more than just stamps and ink—it’s about sharing a part of myself with those I love!
For the last, 4 years now, I have worked in retail, in a place that caters to those that want to do DIY (Do It Yourself) projects around their home. I can relate to the DIY-ers, as I love to find ways to do things myself, when I can.
This past year has been not only a DIY kind of year for many, but it’s also been somewhat of a disconnect year. It’s been challenging to let go of some of the human connection that we all need and desire. Making cards and projects to encourage and inspire others is a great way to reach out, and one that I have enjoyed very much! Now as a demonstrator of Stampin’ Up! I am looking for others that I can encourage and inspire!
